Ultimate Reset: Day 17

Day 17 is here which means there's only 4 more days left until the end of my 21 days. Today I actually started to think about what my meals were going to look like after this Reset. I know I probably shouldn't go and pig out the day after, but I'm not going to make any promises.. lmao. After I do have that one cheat meal afterwards, I do plan on keeping a similar diet to this cleanse but I'll have 2 snacks again and keep grains in the mix. I may have some baby lettuce and salad fixings left over, so I'll probably still have salads until everything is gone.

Anyways, this morning I had my lunch for breakfast. It was a carrot salad and some greens. I actually ended up just dumping the carrots on the greens to eat faster, lol. Super filling.

Now, for lunch I had Shakeology. As always, it was divine and I always look forward to drinking it now that I'm back with Chocolate. Seriously guys, you need to get on this Shakeology wagon because it's so damn good! It's also the quickest and easiest way to get in your nutrition and get an energy boost too. It doesn't have any stimulants or caffeine, just pure natural goodness. Send me a message on Facebook if you're interested in trying all the flavors of Shakeology for only $30! Or just click the link below.

I never really had snacks throughout this whole cleanse. I think I've only had 2 days where I felt like I needed a snack. Still no snack today.

Dinner tonight was roasted squash and green beans. The squash was supposed to be a delicata, but I couldn't find that so I just got butternut again. Plus it's way easier because it comes already pre-cut in a bag for you in the refrigerated produce section, lol. No cleaning and gutting out gross squash, lol. Anyway, the squash was super good. The green beans were good too, they were just seasoned with Himalayan salt and lemon.

I am feeling very jealous right now because Mike is at Foodie Fest (just imagine a bunch of food trucks, ugh and yummy yummy delicious goodness!) and I'm also feeling very proud of myself for sticking to this and not caving and going with him. He just sent me this picture of some spicy garlic Parmesan wings..

That's okay. I'll feel good in the morning when my abs look flatter and more defined! Lol. I'll just keep my mind busy tending to Caleb.

So, another day in the bag and down 2 more lbs for total loss of 8 lbs to date. If you're considering doing the Reset after following my journey, I encourage you not to do it alone. As a Beachbody Coach, I can mentor and support you through this 21 day program. Plus, I can provide you with valuable insight and help you get the best possible results. If you want to try this program, send me a Facebook message and we can talk details.

Ultimate Reset: Day 16

Breakfast was Shakeology. I had it on the way to work because I overslept and was running a tad bit late. Still made it on time! Thank God I only live less than 10 minutes away, haha.

Lunch was a salad.

Dinner was fruit (it was supposed to be that lemon kale, but I didn't want that), and curry cauliflower. The day was alright. Nothing new to report here. Honestly, looking forward to this being over with! Gotta catch up and blog day 17!

Ultimate Reset: Day 15

It was a great day today!

Breakfast was, you guessed it! Lol. Shakeology.

For lunch, I had a salad and miso soup. I was looking forward to eating the Asian cabbage salad, but I think I marinated it too long so it was just soaked in the dressing! I still ate it though. I could tell it would be super good if I hadn't have marinated it overnight. It says to marinate it for 15 minutes, but because I prep my lunches the night before.. yeah, that wasn't going to happen. I don't have time on my lunch breaks to come home and prepare a meal, so I like it to just be ready to eat as soon as I get home.

Dinner was pretty darn good! I didn't complain at all. I love sweet potatoes, and this was the first time I've ever had it without butter. The recipe called for it to just be seasoned with olive oil and Himalayan salt, and it was still so freaking good. I wanted another whole potato, haha.

Anyway, today was the start of week 3.. which is the final week. There's a new supplement to take this week, called Revitalize (helps revitalize flora in the digestive tract -- this is in pill form). Basically, it's a blend of pro-biotics and pre-biotics. It's beneficial for the immune and digestive system and your overall health. I am so thankful that I don't have to drink the Detox drink and that these are only pills. So, now for week 3 in addition to Revitalize.. I am taking Mineralize, Optimize, Alkalinize, and Soothe. (If you're just now starting to follow my journey, go back to my Day 1 post to find out what those supplements do.)

Although I feel great from this cleanse, I feel like I need to work out. I can feel myself being lazy, lol. I know once this cleanse is over I'm going to have a hard time getting back into the swing of things working out 6 days/week again. I decided that after this cleanse is over, I'm going to ease back into my workouts and not go balls to the wall.. lol. I'll probably do Tai Cheng for a week, and then go back into P90X3.

Only 6 days left and I'm looking forward to taking my after pictures and measurements!

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 14

This marks the last day of the week 2. Let's talk about the real deal: what am I feeling!?

So of course you may think that I will sugar coat things because I am a Beachbody coach and I want to only share the good experiences with the cleanse. But that's not me! I am down 6 lbs since I started. Most of the food tastes great. I find myself asking what will I do after the cleanse is over. Will I eat ice cream? Chips? I wonder what my very first meal will be after this is all done. It's hard because I don't want to gunk up my body again because I feel so awesome. I do believe that having a balance between healthy and junk is the key. I plan on maintaining my lifestyle this way 80% of the time. Then once a week I will allow myself a cheat. I can't imagine life any other way, lol.

Breakfast was Shakeology. I was so tired this morning, I didn't want to get out of bed. It was just so comfy! But this chocolate though, gives me life! Lol. Seriously. I'm in love. I'm starting to miss eggs for breakfast though. Eggs, bacon, & avocado was my go-to breakfast before I started this cleanse. I suppose that'll have to wait until next week!

Lunch was a soup made from the leftover squash from last night's dinner and coconut milk, with a salad. I keep forgetting to add the pumpkin seeds to my salads sometimes! The soup was good. It reminds me of a Thai coconut soup, minus the texture of it. This soup was more thick and creamy and looks like nacho cheese, haha. It made me want nacho cheese. I actually came up with something I wanted: Carne asada fries, but with curly fries instead of regular.. and nacho cheese instead of cheddar. Lol, that sounds incredibly fat but so good. I've never had that before. I was joking around with Mike saying, "I wonder if I bring some Jack in the Box curly fries to somewhere like Roberto's, would they make it for me?" Lmao. Oh gosh. Then he was teasing me about Foodie Fest (a bunch of food trucks), because it's this weekend and I'll still be on the cleanse.. so I can't go! :(

Dinner was alright. The edamame and corn succotash was good, but the lemon kale was blah. I didn't care for it. I probably won't make that again. I usually like kale, but the lemon made it gross. But as for the overall meal, it did it's job and made me full.

Overall, today was alright. I don't have to take that Detox supplement again! This week went by pretty quickly now that I realize I don't have to take it anymore. That stuff was pretty nasty as far as the texture goes. It wasn't great, but I guess I'd say it did the job for my colon! Lol, TMI. On that note.. I'll end it here because I have to get to doing dishes. Tomorrow starts week 3!

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 13

For breakfast, I subbed in leftover baked tempeh because I was not feeling how the mashed chickpeas looked. That looked nasty, lol. I threw it all away. Along with the tempeh, I had steamed spinach.

Lunch was Shakeology, same recipe.

Dinner was baked butternut squash with garlic tahini. It was supposed to be kabocha squash, but I don't think it's in season because I couldn't find it anywhere. It was actually good! I'd have it again. Also had a side of broccoli.

Today was another rough day mentally. There's a lot of junk food in my house and it's so tempting whenever I see it, but I've managed to stay on track. How? Because I know what the positive out come will be and I really want to cleanse and know what it feels like to truly have a healthier inside as well as outside. Besides, I'm learning more and more about different foods that I would never have tried before I started this Reset! Anyways, I need to get ready for bed now. Goodnight!

Ultimate Reset: Day 12

I was having a tough day so I thought this photo summed it all up. It's a great reminder for anything in life that you take on. Keep all this in mind because it really is a mental fight!

Breakfast. I have to be honest here in saying I was really getting tired of vanilla! I love chocolate and this vegan formula is better than the regular one in my opinion. Chocolate gives me life! I feel like I get to have a chocolate shake during this cleanse, lol.

Lunch was leftover vegetable miso soup and a salad. I ran out of cucumbers, tomatoes, and red bell peppers.. so I subbed it with avocado and kalamata olives, lol. Luckily tomorrow is grocery shopping day!

Dinner was roasted beets, coconut collard greens, and leftover quinoa lentil pilaf. I was supposed to have millet, but for some reason I didn't buy any.. so that's why I just subbed it with the pilaf.

Like I said, today was a really rough day for me.. mentally. It's been a long process so far, but I'm half way through this. I really wanted to eat crackers, Cheetos, and donuts today.. but I didn't. I'm doing my best to fight through it and not fall off the wagon. This is where the mental strength comes in! I even turned down going to my grandpa's 10 year memorial family gathering at Buffet @ Asia tomorrow, because I know I can't have any of the food. I only have 9 days left and I know I can push through! Tomorrow's another day. Until then..

Ultimate Reset: Day 11

It's been a good day today! I received my new Shakeology bag for this month. So excited when I saw it on my doorstep! If you haven't had this before, you should seriously consider trying it. Bottom of the bag guarantee and the best thing you could possibly do for your body because it has all the vitamins and minerals plus more that you're body needs! I've tried all the flavors of the regular formula (Chocolate, Strawberry, Greenberry, & Vanilla) and my new bag this month, I decided to try the Chocolate Vegan formula. Can't wait to open up that bad boy tomorrow morning!

If you've been following my posts for a while and have been wanting to try Shakeology for the first time or have been using one labor for awhile and want to try a different flavor to see if you like it, Beachbody now has a Shakeology Super Sampler and you can get it directly through me! It's only $29.95. I personally have been drinking Shakeology every single day for the past 8 months. It helps me curb cravings for those dang hot cheetos that I love (don't get me wrong, I do still eat them when it's cheat time.. lol) and also gives me the energy that I need to exercise, work full time, and keep up with family life. My personal favorite is Chocolate. I'll let you guys know how I like the Vegan formula compared to the regular one tomorrow. Anyway, this Super Sampler is a great way for you to try them all out and see what your taste buds prefer the most! Just click the link below.

Breakfast was my vanilla Shakeology, just mixed with water.. and a side of pineapple chunks.

Lunch was leftover quinoa lentil pilaf and I was supposed to have a cucumber and tomato salad on the side, but I didn't really care for that recipe in week 1.. so I subbed it for a fruit bowl.

Dinner was a vegetable miso soup, Swiss chard, and quinoa. I loved this miso soup! Way better and more flavorful than the plain miso soup in week 1.

Anyway, I hope I can try to get a good nights sleep tonight like I did last night! Till tomorrow..

Ultimate Reset: Day 10

Catching up, so technically today is Day 11.. but whatever. Can't believe I'm at the half way point! It's been great, and it feels like it's going by quickly. It's been so long since I've worked out, I kind of miss it! Anyway, back to yesterday..

Breakfast was different because I decided to eat my lunch for breakfast. I had a Greek salad. I was supposed to have leftover sweet potato roasted red pepper bisque too, but I had that at lunch instead.

Lunch, like I said was the bisque.. and Shakeology. Same ol' recipe!

Dinner was something new and it was pretty good! It was a quinoa lentil pilaf with a side of broccoli. Very easy to make and super filling. I loved this pilaf!

What I like about all the food so far is that most of it is easily accessible at your local grocery store, and the ingredients used in all of these recipes are often the same. There were only a few items that I know I could probably only find at a Whole Foods or some kind of store that's similar, but everything else I just got at Albertson's.

I felt good yesterday. No issues to report. I also got some reflexology done last night. Felt painful, yet amazing and relaxing. I really needed that. I really feel like it helped to compliment this detox diet. Anyway, gotta catch up and blog day 11.

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 9

Good day overall today! Although I did come across some challenges after dinner.. but I overcame them!

Breakfast, of course.. Shakeology.

Lunch was leftover black beans and rice and a salad.

Dinner was a sweet potato and roasted red pepper bisque, which was amazing! Not more amazing than the asparagus though! I would have the whole bunch of asparagus if I could. This soup is definitely way better than the zucchini cashew I had in week 1. The asparagus was just so simple, tossed in olive oil and Himalayan salt, sprinkled with slivered almonds.. then baked. It was so freaking good, I felt like I was eating french fries! Gosh I want some more, lol.

I had some issues with hunger again, before lunch. No cravings, but after I had dinner.. Mike decided he wanted Chipotle for his dinner and some donuts for dessert.

I felt left out so I had avocado, pico de gallo, and carrots as a snack.. lol.

Other than me being jealous of not being able to have any Chipotle or donuts, and having to drink that damn Detox supplement 3 times a day.. it was a good day.

Eat right, sleep tight..
Tiare

Ultimate Reset: Day 8

Yesterday wasn't a bad day.

Breakfast was Shakeology.

Lunch was a salad.

Dinner was black beans and rice, green beans, and broccoli. I was supposed to have pinto beans, but I still had leftover from the taco in week 1.. so I used that instead.

All meals were great! The only new recipe was dinner, and no complaints there. I was feeling rather hungry before lunch time again, but I drank more water to help curb that.

I was introduced to a new supplement for week 2: Detox. (It helps remove toxins and waste in the colon -- this is in powder form & you just mix it with water.) I have to take this 3 times a day and still take the Alkalinize once a day, the pills (Optimize & Soothe), and the Mineralize mixed in my water for the day. (If you're just starting to read my blogs, you can refer to my Day 1 post about what these supplements do.) Detox is very gritty. I don't mind the taste of it, but the texture is horrible. It's like drinking sand with water as far as texture. I'm glad it doesn't taste nasty though!

Well, gotta catch up and blog day 9.

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 7

Wow, 1 week of the Reset had come to a close already! Week 1 wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Why? Because I still had filling meals with protein and veggies and I could still drink my Shakeology. Yes, the meals were only 3 a day with 1 snack and I am used to 3 a day with 2 snacks but it was totally doable. I didn't even need to eat the snack. I only had a snack 1 day out of the week. The food (for the most part) is great and I am walking away from this week feeling like I could really make some big changes in my diet. I don't feel bloated anymore at the end of the day. I haven't had any mood swings yet like I thought I would. People said I would be a total crabby bitch, but I haven't seen it yet.. lol.

Breakfast was Shakeology. I'm always gonna use the same recipe throughout this cleanse because I don't wanna waste a whole bag of coconut flakes, lol.

Lunch was leftover zucchini cashew soup and a salad. This time I tried the soup cold because it says you could also serve it cold. I don't know. I think I like it cold better? Maybe. Still not sure. It sure did cut down on time though with not having to microwave it and waiting for it to cool down for me to eat. I probably won't make it again.

Dinner was baked tempeh, broccoli, and brown rice. This tempeh is different from the smokey one I used in the sushi earlier in week 1. I definitely like the smokey one better. I mean, this plain one was alright. It wasn't bad, I just like the smokey one better.

Today I felt some hunger around 11am, but I waited it out until lunch time since I only had another hour to go. Sleep wasn't so good last night. I went to sleep around midnight and woke up at 6:15am today. I felt exhausted and kept yawning at my desk all day, but I'm wondering if it was just because I was out all day yesterday. Caleb and I were at the splash pad/park for 3 hours and then after that I went grocery shopping for week 2 and came home and cooked dinner, prepped my meals for today.

So, that wraps up week 1 with no red meat or dairy.. (even though I cheated yesterday at the birthday party). Weeks 2 and 3 are full out vegetarian. I'll be moving into a more vegetable, fruit, and whole grain based diet. I'll also be adding a new supplement (Detox) starting tomorrow! I am down 4 lbs total. I feel leaner, my body feels good and so far I would highly recommend the Reset to my family and friends. Wish me luck for week 2!

Eat right, sleep tight..
Tiare

Ultimate Reset: Day 6

Today, for breakfast I had Shakeology.. same recipe (the pineapple and coconut flakes one).

For lunch, I'm not so proud of. Caleb and I went to a birthday party and I had a piece of fried chicken, strawberries, grapes, a Dixie cup full of sangria, a macaroon, and a cupcake. All of it I shared with Caleb, minus the sangria of course. No picture. Sigh, I still got all of my supplements in for the day and still drank all of my water. For dinner, I got right back on the program.. so I'm not gonna beat myself up about it so much. I had planned to go to this birthday party way before I planned to do this cleanse, and I didn't want to come off as rude or snobby by declining the food that they worked hard to provide us with. I mean, I know if I was throwing a party and had food made or ordered.. I'd want my guests to eat, and not be stuck with a whole bunch of leftovers. I don't have any other parties coming up, so I should be good for the rest of the cleanse.

Dinner was a roasted root medley (yam, carrot, beet, onion.. tossed in olive oil and himalayan salt, and baked) and zucchini cashew soup. The medley is something I would definitely have again, maybe even make it as a side dish for thanksgiving or something. The soup was not the best soup I've ever had. I didn't like the fact that it was still nutty. Maybe if I added more liquid or less cashews, or maybe I need a food processor because I just used my blender. I do have a Ninja though, so it blended pretty well.. probably better than a regular blender would. I just prefer creamy or more broth based soups.

Well, gotta hit the hay.. it's already 10:55pm and I have work at 8:30am tomorrow.

Love,
Tiare

Ultimate Reset: Day 5

Today I have felt my best on this journey to date! An excellent night sleep makes for a happy and productive day. I got like, 9 hours of sleep last night because I slept in till 10:30am. At first I was like, no! It's so late, my schedule is all messed up now. But, whatever. I feel awesome and surprised Caleb let me sleep in so late. I wonder how long he was awake in his crib waiting for me, lol.

Breakfast, as you can see was Shakeology. This time I had it with peppermint extract and just blended it with water and ice. I accidentally put too much extract, so it wasn't as yummy as I imagined it would be.

Lunch was a veggie plate with plain hummus, and a quinoa salad.. which was really good! All of this was really good actually. I'm not usually one to make a veggie plate. This cleanse has definitely made me eat more vegetables than I'm used to.

Dinner was leftover veggie stir fry, brown rice, and the last of the miso soup I prepped for the whole week. Thank God I didn't have to cook anything tonight because it's nice to get a break from cooking a lot. That's another thing this cleanse has made me do.. is get back into the kitchen. I haven't cooked like this since before I had Caleb!

I did notice I had another tummy ache after lunch, but I didn't feel any hunger, headaches, or coldness. I have noticed that I feel healthier and I feel lighter! I have dropped 4 lbs. in just 4 days! My reasoning for doing this cleanse wasn't to lose weight, but to clean myself from the inside out as much as I could and to learn how to eat better and also to introduce new foods and recipes into my daily diet. If any weight came off it would be an added bonus! And I like bonuses :)

So, it was yet another great day on the Reset! Till tomorrow..

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 4

Woke up this morning feeling tired, but great at the same time.

Breakfast as you can see was Shakeology, I just mixed it with water.. and my side of pineapple chunks, because I didn't wanna use the blender today.

Lunch was leftover sushi and lentil salad. Seriously, love this sushi recipe! Doesn't really keep in the fridge well though, because the rice gets all hardened.. lol. It was still good though, whatever.

This dinner was so freaking good. Well, the stir fried veggies and quinoa at least. I could live without the zucchini and tomato salad. It was supposed to be a cucumber and tomato salad, but I didn't have anymore cucumbers because I used them all for the cucumber salad and sushi I made last night. Tomorrow I need to go out and buy more cucumbers, red bell peppers, and tomatoes. But anyways, yeah.. that stir fry though. Best I've ever had! So good! Now that is something I would make on a weekly basis even when this cleanse is over.

I noticed I was colder today and I mentioned that the book says it's normal. I was freezing today! I woke up this morning and the thermostat said 72 and I had to put on a hoodie and pj pants. I even wore a hoodie to work today. Other than that, no complaints or issues! I keep wondering when I'm gonna start acting bitchy and go through withdrawals. Oh wait! Last night, I did have a headache before bed. It was bothering me so bad I had to rub some essential oils on my temples. (I use the Past Tense blend that doTERRA makes.) But yeah, that's about it for today.

Eat right, sleep tight..
Tiare

Ultimate Reset: Day 3

Today was a good day!

Breakfast was different because I decided to eat my lunch for breakfast. I had a lentil salad. I was also supposed to eat a green leaf salad, but I was so full I just couldn't. Now, the lentil salad was interesting because I've never had lentils before. It was good, but it's not something I would eat on the regular like the other meals I've had so far.

Lunch was the same ol' Shakeology, same recipe. This time I did add unsweetened coconut flakes because Mike bought some for me. I also had the salad that I couldn't eat at breakfast.

Dinner was so much food! I had sushi made with tempeh (it's made from soybeans. kind of like tofu, but it's firm instead of smooth and wet. this particular kind was smoked, so it had a bbq-ish flavor) and veggies, a cucumber salad, and miso soup. I like all of these. I would definitely make the sushi again, it was so good! I think I rolled that sushi pretty good for my first time, lol. It was my first time having tempeh too. I was scared at first because I've never heard of it before, but it was surprisingly really good.

Tomorrow, I'm going to try to get in some stretching or do the Tai Cheng (which is basically tai chi, which is a gentle martial art) DVD workout that this program comes with. It is recommended that you go for walks, stretch, or do light workouts.. but nothing that exerts yourself because the focus of this cleanse is rest and food. You don't want to confuse your body.

I didn't experience any headaches today. I didn't feel hungry at all. No issues! Well, I was pretty cold in the office today.. and it says in the program guide that it can happen and it's normal (because the body tends to chill more easily when cleansing), but it's always pretty cold in the office.. so I don't know, lol. As for cravings, I haven't really had any. I mean, Mike did buy more junk today. He asked me if I needed anything from Walmart and you know what I said? 2 cucumbers and rice vinegar (for the cucumber salad I had for dinner). Lmao. How random is that? Anyway, he sent me a picture of what he bought..

I could only imagine what that looked like as he paid for everything. All junk food and then he has 2 random ass cucumbers, lol. But anyways, I really wanted some of that frozen custard and popcorn.. but I didn't.

I am pleasantly surprised how well this first week is going! I'm sure by the time I reach week 2 it'll change up a little bit. It's 10:13pm and way past Caleb's bedtime, so I need to wrap this up and get him ready for bed. Till tomorrow..

Eat right, sleep tight!
