Ultimate Reset Results

It's here! It's officially day 22 for me, which means I graduated and I did it! What a huge sense of accomplishment for someone who always had at least one cheat meal every week. I'm not gonna lie, it might've been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in terms of will power. The good part is that it was totally worth it.

I committed to eating 100% clean, stripped down my diet to fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and water. I took the supplements and didn't work out. Yes, that's right! Didn't work out. I nourished my body and focused on how my body felt.

The last week was the hardest for sure, but I've never felt better! So overall, my main goal of the cleanse was to improve my intestinal health. I believe it worked because I never felt bloated or gassy after any meals. The Chocolate Shakeology made it feel like I got to indulge in dessert.

So, what have I learned or gained from this experience?

The biggest thing I can point out is to incorporate more vegetables into my daily meals. I would only ever have them as sides (mainly for dinner) and that was it. Now, I think I'm going to include them with at least 2 meals a day. The Reset has also made me branch out and try a variety of vegetables I wouldn't have tried otherwise. Most were great!

Would I recommend this to others?

Yes! I think it's a great way for those who don't understand how or what to eat. It truly is about getting back to the basics. It wasn't just a cleanse, but a real guide to clean eating. We are supposed to be consuming fresh, natural, whole foods.

My final take?

I understand why this Reset was 3 weeks long, which isn't the norm for many cleanses. It takes 3 weeks to develop a habit. I'm still going to prepare some of my favorite meals from the Reset. This cleanse was a real eye opener and I'm very happy I took this on as my first cleanse, ever!

So, for the weight loss part.. I actually lost 9 pounds and 6 1/2 inches from my body. Seriously, this makes me want to go shopping! Lol. Here are my before and after measurements and pictures..

And there you have it! From this point on, I'm actually gonna try to continue to eat vegan 80% of the time.. because I do still want to have fish or chicken at least some of the time, and of course my cheat meals are definitely coming back into play.. lol. I do realize I have to get back to exercising now. Sigh, lol.

Well, if you think you want to take on Beachbody's Ultimate Reset and would like support, or have any questions.. please message me on fb. Ultimate Reset: Day 21

I made it! Finished strong on my last day which began with of course, Shakeology.. blended with pineapple, unsweetened coconut flakes, and water.

Lunch was supposed to be a carrot seaweed medley and a salad, but like I said a couple of days ago.. I can't eat another damn salad, y'all. I had some fruit instead.

I didn't have a snack today, although I did feel hungrier than usual today. First time I felt that way since week 1. I was just too busy at work to even think about a snack, so I opted to drink more water and ride it out. Now that I think about it, it was probably because I should've had 2 servings of that little fruit cup I had for lunch.. lol. Oh well.

My final meal of the Ultimate Reset was a little disappointing, given that it was the last meal and because there were so many other great meals during the program. It was an avocado cucumber soup, with roasted veggies. The soup was supposed to be cold, but I didn't feel like having a cold soup so I warmed it up. The roasted asparagus and tomatoes were good, but I'm over carrots. It was actually supposed to be asparagus, zucchini, and red bell peppers.. but I had to substitute because I didn't have any zucchini or bell peppers. One thing I've learned from the Reset is how good roasted veggies can be with just olive oil and Himalayan salt. I don't know if it's the salt, but man it's magical.. lol.

Tomorrow I'll post my final results and takeaways, so stay tuned..

Ultimate Reset: Day 20

Day 20 went well physically, but not so much emotionally. I ate all of the meals I was supposed to, but I had a few breakdowns (I'm talking actually crying, lol). After lunch, I started crying because I couldn't have any crackers and I really wanted some.. like super bad! Haha. Then last night, Mike and I went to the movies to watch the new Avengers.. and I started crying because I was surrounded by people (Mike included) with their popcorn, pizza, drinks, etc. I couldn't have any of it! So there I sat during the movie, chewing on my piece of gum.. (you're not even supposed to chew gum during this cleanse, but I didn't care anymore). So yeah, that's how yesterday went.. lol. Other than that, everything went well. I took Caleb to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, so that was fun and exciting to see his face light up at all the fish and other sea creatures.

For breakfast, I had Shakeology.

Lunch was supposed to be a jicama avocado salad, but I didn't have any avocado because they went bad. I tried substituting it with shredded carrots, lol.. but several bites into it, I just wasn't feeling it. So, I made another Shakeology.. but this time made with dark cherries and water. Let me tell you, that recipe is a winner! So much better than the pineapple and coconut flakes (and that one is so good too!) But omg, this tasted like brownie batter it was so damn good.

Dinner was stir fry and kale. That was good.

Okay, going to catch up and blog day 21! So excited that today is my last day.

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 19

9 lbs in 18 days and I'm not even trying to lose weight. That's just the bonus! Anyway, guess what breakfast was? Shakeology. Good guess if you guessed it correctly, lol. I forgot to take a picture though, so you'll just have to believe me.

Lunch was a serving of miso soup, but I added some olive and sesame oil for more flavor because it's so damn good that way! I also had a salad and let me tell you that I am so damn sick of salads now, ugh.

Dinner was what I was supposed to have last night: anise (supposed to be fennel, but I couldn't find any), asparagus, and broccoli. I realized that I ate the wrong part of the fennel after I already ate it, lol. I guess I was supposed to eat the bulb part, not the stalks.. haha. Oh well. It was still yummy.

2 days left. More salads, veggies, and soup ahead. This will all be over soon! Can't wait for my results. I kind of wish I got a blood test before and after to compare cholesterol and all that kind of medical stuff. This Reset isn't just great for weight loss and cleansing, but peoples' cholesterol dropped, energy went up, no caffeine cravings.. that's just so awesome. Although I can't wait to have that one good unhealthy meal after all of this, I do love how I feel lighter and healthier. Usually I feel bloated and backed up all the time, lol.

Anyway, that's it for now today. I wish I could have yummy fight night food, but I can't. *Shrugs*

Ultimate Reset: Day 18

Day 18, I have some disappointing news to tell you. You'll read it later.

Breakfast was Shakeology, just mixed with water and a side of pineapple chunks.

Lunch was a spinach salad. I was supposed to have a sweet potato with it too, but I guess I didn't buy an extra one for the week.. so I just didn't have it.

Caleb was at my parents' house for a couple of hours, so I had to pick him up after I got off work at 5pm. By the time I got there, it was almost 6pm and I was so hungry because it was dinner time already.. but they didn't have any good vegan options there. They did have some watermelon cut and ready though, so I had some for a snack.

When we got home, it was about 7pm and there were some fries that Mike had baked for his lunch I guess and there was like maybe a handful left.. and yup, I ended up eating them as I cooked my dinner.. all because I was so darn hungry and it was right there. Ugh. I'm so disappointed in myself. I only have 3 more days and I gave in to a handful of fries. But anyway, dinner was supposed to be fennel and asparagus, but I totally skipped ahead on accident and had tomorrow's dinner. So, tomorrow I'll have what I was supposed to eat tonight. I had smokey tempeh (it was supposed to be plain, but I didn't want to buy more and I still had leftover smokey kind from week 1.. hope they weren't spoiled, lmao. They still smelled fine, and tasted the same), coconut collard greens, and some fruit. (The fruit was supposed to be roasted beets, but I didn't want that again.) I didn't even eat all the tempeh or fruit because I just wasn't feeling it. The tempeh was too salty and I just didn't feel like eating the cantaloupe or apples. I ate all the rest of it though, and shared with Caleb too.

In conclusion, day 18 went well until those fries. That's about it for today.

Ultimate Reset: Day 17

Day 17 is here which means there's only 4 more days left until the end of my 21 days. Today I actually started to think about what my meals were going to look like after this Reset. I know I probably shouldn't go and pig out the day after, but I'm not going to make any promises.. lmao. After I do have that one cheat meal afterwards, I do plan on keeping a similar diet to this cleanse but I'll have 2 snacks again and keep grains in the mix. I may have some baby lettuce and salad fixings left over, so I'll probably still have salads until everything is gone.

Anyways, this morning I had my lunch for breakfast. It was a carrot salad and some greens. I actually ended up just dumping the carrots on the greens to eat faster, lol. Super filling.

Now, for lunch I had Shakeology. As always, it was divine and I always look forward to drinking it now that I'm back with Chocolate. Seriously guys, you need to get on this Shakeology wagon because it's so damn good! It's also the quickest and easiest way to get in your nutrition and get an energy boost too. It doesn't have any stimulants or caffeine, just pure natural goodness. Send me a message on Facebook if you're interested in trying all the flavors of Shakeology for only $30! Or just click the link below.

I never really had snacks throughout this whole cleanse. I think I've only had 2 days where I felt like I needed a snack. Still no snack today.

Dinner tonight was roasted squash and green beans. The squash was supposed to be a delicata, but I couldn't find that so I just got butternut again. Plus it's way easier because it comes already pre-cut in a bag for you in the refrigerated produce section, lol. No cleaning and gutting out gross squash, lol. Anyway, the squash was super good. The green beans were good too, they were just seasoned with Himalayan salt and lemon.

I am feeling very jealous right now because Mike is at Foodie Fest (just imagine a bunch of food trucks, ugh and yummy yummy delicious goodness!) and I'm also feeling very proud of myself for sticking to this and not caving and going with him. He just sent me this picture of some spicy garlic Parmesan wings..

That's okay. I'll feel good in the morning when my abs look flatter and more defined! Lol. I'll just keep my mind busy tending to Caleb.

So, another day in the bag and down 2 more lbs for total loss of 8 lbs to date. If you're considering doing the Reset after following my journey, I encourage you not to do it alone. As a Beachbody Coach, I can mentor and support you through this 21 day program. Plus, I can provide you with valuable insight and help you get the best possible results. If you want to try this program, send me a Facebook message and we can talk details.

Ultimate Reset: Day 16

Breakfast was Shakeology. I had it on the way to work because I overslept and was running a tad bit late. Still made it on time! Thank God I only live less than 10 minutes away, haha.

Lunch was a salad.

Dinner was fruit (it was supposed to be that lemon kale, but I didn't want that), and curry cauliflower. The day was alright. Nothing new to report here. Honestly, looking forward to this being over with! Gotta catch up and blog day 17!

Ultimate Reset: Day 15

It was a great day today!

Breakfast was, you guessed it! Lol. Shakeology.

For lunch, I had a salad and miso soup. I was looking forward to eating the Asian cabbage salad, but I think I marinated it too long so it was just soaked in the dressing! I still ate it though. I could tell it would be super good if I hadn't have marinated it overnight. It says to marinate it for 15 minutes, but because I prep my lunches the night before.. yeah, that wasn't going to happen. I don't have time on my lunch breaks to come home and prepare a meal, so I like it to just be ready to eat as soon as I get home.

Dinner was pretty darn good! I didn't complain at all. I love sweet potatoes, and this was the first time I've ever had it without butter. The recipe called for it to just be seasoned with olive oil and Himalayan salt, and it was still so freaking good. I wanted another whole potato, haha.

Anyway, today was the start of week 3.. which is the final week. There's a new supplement to take this week, called Revitalize (helps revitalize flora in the digestive tract -- this is in pill form). Basically, it's a blend of pro-biotics and pre-biotics. It's beneficial for the immune and digestive system and your overall health. I am so thankful that I don't have to drink the Detox drink and that these are only pills. So, now for week 3 in addition to Revitalize.. I am taking Mineralize, Optimize, Alkalinize, and Soothe. (If you're just now starting to follow my journey, go back to my Day 1 post to find out what those supplements do.)

Although I feel great from this cleanse, I feel like I need to work out. I can feel myself being lazy, lol. I know once this cleanse is over I'm going to have a hard time getting back into the swing of things working out 6 days/week again. I decided that after this cleanse is over, I'm going to ease back into my workouts and not go balls to the wall.. lol. I'll probably do Tai Cheng for a week, and then go back into P90X3.

Only 6 days left and I'm looking forward to taking my after pictures and measurements!

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 14

This marks the last day of the week 2. Let's talk about the real deal: what am I feeling!?

So of course you may think that I will sugar coat things because I am a Beachbody coach and I want to only share the good experiences with the cleanse. But that's not me! I am down 6 lbs since I started. Most of the food tastes great. I find myself asking what will I do after the cleanse is over. Will I eat ice cream? Chips? I wonder what my very first meal will be after this is all done. It's hard because I don't want to gunk up my body again because I feel so awesome. I do believe that having a balance between healthy and junk is the key. I plan on maintaining my lifestyle this way 80% of the time. Then once a week I will allow myself a cheat. I can't imagine life any other way, lol.

Breakfast was Shakeology. I was so tired this morning, I didn't want to get out of bed. It was just so comfy! But this chocolate though, gives me life! Lol. Seriously. I'm in love. I'm starting to miss eggs for breakfast though. Eggs, bacon, & avocado was my go-to breakfast before I started this cleanse. I suppose that'll have to wait until next week!

Lunch was a soup made from the leftover squash from last night's dinner and coconut milk, with a salad. I keep forgetting to add the pumpkin seeds to my salads sometimes! The soup was good. It reminds me of a Thai coconut soup, minus the texture of it. This soup was more thick and creamy and looks like nacho cheese, haha. It made me want nacho cheese. I actually came up with something I wanted: Carne asada fries, but with curly fries instead of regular.. and nacho cheese instead of cheddar. Lol, that sounds incredibly fat but so good. I've never had that before. I was joking around with Mike saying, "I wonder if I bring some Jack in the Box curly fries to somewhere like Roberto's, would they make it for me?" Lmao. Oh gosh. Then he was teasing me about Foodie Fest (a bunch of food trucks), because it's this weekend and I'll still be on the cleanse.. so I can't go! :(

Dinner was alright. The edamame and corn succotash was good, but the lemon kale was blah. I didn't care for it. I probably won't make that again. I usually like kale, but the lemon made it gross. But as for the overall meal, it did it's job and made me full.

Overall, today was alright. I don't have to take that Detox supplement again! This week went by pretty quickly now that I realize I don't have to take it anymore. That stuff was pretty nasty as far as the texture goes. It wasn't great, but I guess I'd say it did the job for my colon! Lol, TMI. On that note.. I'll end it here because I have to get to doing dishes. Tomorrow starts week 3!

Eat right, sleep tight..

Ultimate Reset: Day 13

For breakfast, I subbed in leftover baked tempeh because I was not feeling how the mashed chickpeas looked. That looked nasty, lol. I threw it all away. Along with the tempeh, I had steamed spinach.

Lunch was Shakeology, same recipe.

Dinner was baked butternut squash with garlic tahini. It was supposed to be kabocha squash, but I don't think it's in season because I couldn't find it anywhere. It was actually good! I'd have it again. Also had a side of broccoli.

Today was another rough day mentally. There's a lot of junk food in my house and it's so tempting whenever I see it, but I've managed to stay on track. How? Because I know what the positive out come will be and I really want to cleanse and know what it feels like to truly have a healthier inside as well as outside. Besides, I'm learning more and more about different foods that I would never have tried before I started this Reset! Anyways, I need to get ready for bed now. Goodnight!

Ultimate Reset: Day 12

I was having a tough day so I thought this photo summed it all up. It's a great reminder for anything in life that you take on. Keep all this in mind because it really is a mental fight!

Breakfast. I have to be honest here in saying I was really getting tired of vanilla! I love chocolate and this vegan formula is better than the regular one in my opinion. Chocolate gives me life! I feel like I get to have a chocolate shake during this cleanse, lol.

Lunch was leftover vegetable miso soup and a salad. I ran out of cucumbers, tomatoes, and red bell peppers.. so I subbed it with avocado and kalamata olives, lol. Luckily tomorrow is grocery shopping day!

Dinner was roasted beets, coconut collard greens, and leftover quinoa lentil pilaf. I was supposed to have millet, but for some reason I didn't buy any.. so that's why I just subbed it with the pilaf.

Like I said, today was a really rough day for me.. mentally. It's been a long process so far, but I'm half way through this. I really wanted to eat crackers, Cheetos, and donuts today.. but I didn't. I'm doing my best to fight through it and not fall off the wagon. This is where the mental strength comes in! I even turned down going to my grandpa's 10 year memorial family gathering at Buffet @ Asia tomorrow, because I know I can't have any of the food. I only have 9 days left and I know I can push through! Tomorrow's another day. Until then..

Ultimate Reset: Day 11

It's been a good day today! I received my new Shakeology bag for this month. So excited when I saw it on my doorstep! If you haven't had this before, you should seriously consider trying it. Bottom of the bag guarantee and the best thing you could possibly do for your body because it has all the vitamins and minerals plus more that you're body needs! I've tried all the flavors of the regular formula (Chocolate, Strawberry, Greenberry, & Vanilla) and my new bag this month, I decided to try the Chocolate Vegan formula. Can't wait to open up that bad boy tomorrow morning!

If you've been following my posts for a while and have been wanting to try Shakeology for the first time or have been using one labor for awhile and want to try a different flavor to see if you like it, Beachbody now has a Shakeology Super Sampler and you can get it directly through me! It's only $29.95. I personally have been drinking Shakeology every single day for the past 8 months. It helps me curb cravings for those dang hot cheetos that I love (don't get me wrong, I do still eat them when it's cheat time.. lol) and also gives me the energy that I need to exercise, work full time, and keep up with family life. My personal favorite is Chocolate. I'll let you guys know how I like the Vegan formula compared to the regular one tomorrow. Anyway, this Super Sampler is a great way for you to try them all out and see what your taste buds prefer the most! Just click the link below.

Breakfast was my vanilla Shakeology, just mixed with water.. and a side of pineapple chunks.

Lunch was leftover quinoa lentil pilaf and I was supposed to have a cucumber and tomato salad on the side, but I didn't really care for that recipe in week 1.. so I subbed it for a fruit bowl.

Dinner was a vegetable miso soup, Swiss chard, and quinoa. I loved this miso soup! Way better and more flavorful than the plain miso soup in week 1.

Anyway, I hope I can try to get a good nights sleep tonight like I did last night! Till tomorrow..

Ultimate Reset: Day 10

Catching up, so technically today is Day 11.. but whatever. Can't believe I'm at the half way point! It's been great, and it feels like it's going by quickly. It's been so long since I've worked out, I kind of miss it! Anyway, back to yesterday..

Breakfast was different because I decided to eat my lunch for breakfast. I had a Greek salad. I was supposed to have leftover sweet potato roasted red pepper bisque too, but I had that at lunch instead.

Lunch, like I said was the bisque.. and Shakeology. Same ol' recipe!

Dinner was something new and it was pretty good! It was a quinoa lentil pilaf with a side of broccoli. Very easy to make and super filling. I loved this pilaf!

What I like about all the food so far is that most of it is easily accessible at your local grocery store, and the ingredients used in all of these recipes are often the same. There were only a few items that I know I could probably only find at a Whole Foods or some kind of store that's similar, but everything else I just got at Albertson's.

I felt good yesterday. No issues to report. I also got some reflexology done last night. Felt painful, yet amazing and relaxing. I really needed that. I really feel like it helped to compliment this detox diet. Anyway, gotta catch up and blog day 11.

Ultimate Reset: Day 9

Good day overall today! Although I did come across some challenges after dinner.. but I overcame them!

Breakfast, of course.. Shakeology.

Lunch was leftover black beans and rice and a salad.

Dinner was a sweet potato and roasted red pepper bisque, which was amazing! Not more amazing than the asparagus though! I would have the whole bunch of asparagus if I could. This soup is definitely way better than the zucchini cashew I had in week 1. The asparagus was just so simple, tossed in olive oil and Himalayan salt, sprinkled with slivered almonds.. then baked. It was so freaking good, I felt like I was eating french fries! Gosh I want some more, lol.

I had some issues with hunger again, before lunch. No cravings, but after I had dinner.. Mike decided he wanted Chipotle for his dinner and some donuts for dessert.

I felt left out so I had avocado, pico de gallo, and carrots as a snack.. lol.

Other than me being jealous of not being able to have any Chipotle or donuts, and having to drink that damn Detox supplement 3 times a day.. it was a good day.

Eat right, sleep tight..
