Ultimate Reset Results

It's here! It's officially day 22 for me, which means I graduated and I did it! What a huge sense of accomplishment for someone who always had at least one cheat meal every week. I'm not gonna lie, it might've been one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in terms of will power. The good part is that it was totally worth it.

I committed to eating 100% clean, stripped down my diet to fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and water. I took the supplements and didn't work out. Yes, that's right! Didn't work out. I nourished my body and focused on how my body felt.

The last week was the hardest for sure, but I've never felt better! So overall, my main goal of the cleanse was to improve my intestinal health. I believe it worked because I never felt bloated or gassy after any meals. The Chocolate Shakeology made it feel like I got to indulge in dessert.

So, what have I learned or gained from this experience?

The biggest thing I can point out is to incorporate more vegetables into my daily meals. I would only ever have them as sides (mainly for dinner) and that was it. Now, I think I'm going to include them with at least 2 meals a day. The Reset has also made me branch out and try a variety of vegetables I wouldn't have tried otherwise. Most were great!

Would I recommend this to others?

Yes! I think it's a great way for those who don't understand how or what to eat. It truly is about getting back to the basics. It wasn't just a cleanse, but a real guide to clean eating. We are supposed to be consuming fresh, natural, whole foods.

My final take?

I understand why this Reset was 3 weeks long, which isn't the norm for many cleanses. It takes 3 weeks to develop a habit. I'm still going to prepare some of my favorite meals from the Reset. This cleanse was a real eye opener and I'm very happy I took this on as my first cleanse, ever!

So, for the weight loss part.. I actually lost 9 pounds and 6 1/2 inches from my body. Seriously, this makes me want to go shopping! Lol. Here are my before and after measurements and pictures..

And there you have it! From this point on, I'm actually gonna try to continue to eat vegan 80% of the time.. because I do still want to have fish or chicken at least some of the time, and of course my cheat meals are definitely coming back into play.. lol. I do realize I have to get back to exercising now. Sigh, lol.

Ultimate Reset: Day 21

I made it! Finished strong on my last day which began with of course, Shakeology.. blended with pineapple, unsweetened coconut flakes, and water.

Lunch was supposed to be a carrot seaweed medley and a salad, but like I said a couple of days ago.. I can't eat another damn salad, y'all. I had some fruit instead.

I didn't have a snack today, although I did feel hungrier than usual today. First time I felt that way since week 1. I was just too busy at work to even think about a snack, so I opted to drink more water and ride it out. Now that I think about it, it was probably because I should've had 2 servings of that little fruit cup I had for lunch.. lol. Oh well.

My final meal of the Ultimate Reset was a little disappointing, given that it was the last meal and because there were so many other great meals during the program. It was an avocado cucumber soup, with roasted veggies. The soup was supposed to be cold, but I didn't feel like having a cold soup so I warmed it up. The roasted asparagus and tomatoes were good, but I'm over carrots. It was actually supposed to be asparagus, zucchini, and red bell peppers.. but I had to substitute because I didn't have any zucchini or bell peppers. One thing I've learned from the Reset is how good roasted veggies can be with just olive oil and Himalayan salt. I don't know if it's the salt, but man it's magical.. lol.

Tomorrow I'll post my final results and takeaways, so stay tuned..

Ultimate Reset: Day 20

Day 20 went well physically, but not so much emotionally. I ate all of the meals I was supposed to, but I had a few breakdowns (I'm talking actually crying, lol). After lunch, I started crying because I couldn't have any crackers and I really wanted some.. like super bad! Haha. Then last night, Mike and I went to the movies to watch the new Avengers.. and I started crying because I was surrounded by people (Mike included) with their popcorn, pizza, drinks, etc. I couldn't have any of it! So there I sat during the movie, chewing on my piece of gum.. (you're not even supposed to chew gum during this cleanse, but I didn't care anymore). So yeah, that's how yesterday went.. lol. Other than that, everything went well. I took Caleb to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, so that was fun and exciting to see his face light up at all the fish and other sea creatures.

For breakfast, I had Shakeology.

Lunch was supposed to be a jicama avocado salad, but I didn't have any avocado because they went bad. I tried substituting it with shredded carrots, lol.. but several bites into it, I just wasn't feeling it. So, I made another Shakeology.. but this time made with dark cherries and water. Let me tell you, that recipe is a winner! So much better than the pineapple and coconut flakes (and that one is so good too!) But omg, this tasted like brownie batter it was so damn good.

Dinner was stir fry and kale. That was good.

Okay, going to catch up and blog day 21! So excited that today is my last day.

Ultimate Reset: Day 19

9 lbs in 18 days and I'm not even trying to lose weight. That's just the bonus! Anyway, guess what breakfast was? Shakeology. Good guess if you guessed it correctly, lol. I forgot to take a picture though, so you'll just have to believe me.

Lunch was a serving of miso soup, but I added some olive and sesame oil for more flavor because it's so damn good that way! I also had a salad and let me tell you that I am so damn sick of salads now, ugh.

Dinner was what I was supposed to have last night: anise (supposed to be fennel, but I couldn't find any), asparagus, and broccoli. I realized that I ate the wrong part of the fennel after I already ate it, lol. I guess I was supposed to eat the bulb part, not the stalks.. haha. Oh well. It was still yummy.

2 days left. More salads, veggies, and soup ahead. This will all be over soon! Can't wait for my results. I kind of wish I got a blood test before and after to compare cholesterol and all that kind of medical stuff. This Reset isn't just great for weight loss and cleansing, but peoples' cholesterol dropped, energy went up, no caffeine cravings.. that's just so awesome. Although I can't wait to have that one good unhealthy meal after all of this, I do love how I feel lighter and healthier. Usually I feel bloated and backed up all the time, lol.

Anyway, that's it for now today. I wish I could have yummy fight night food, but I can't. *Shrugs*

Ultimate Reset: Day 18

Day 18, I have some disappointing news to tell you. You'll read it later.

Breakfast was Shakeology, just mixed with water and a side of pineapple chunks.

Lunch was a spinach salad. I was supposed to have a sweet potato with it too, but I guess I didn't buy an extra one for the week.. so I just didn't have it.

Caleb was at my parents' house for a couple of hours, so I had to pick him up after I got off work at 5pm. By the time I got there, it was almost 6pm and I was so hungry because it was dinner time already.. but they didn't have any good vegan options there. They did have some watermelon cut and ready though, so I had some for a snack.

When we got home, it was about 7pm and there were some fries that Mike had baked for his lunch I guess and there was like maybe a handful left.. and yup, I ended up eating them as I cooked my dinner.. all because I was so darn hungry and it was right there. Ugh. I'm so disappointed in myself. I only have 3 more days and I gave in to a handful of fries. But anyway, dinner was supposed to be fennel and asparagus, but I totally skipped ahead on accident and had tomorrow's dinner. So, tomorrow I'll have what I was supposed to eat tonight. I had smokey tempeh (it was supposed to be plain, but I didn't want to buy more and I still had leftover smokey kind from week 1.. hope they weren't spoiled, lmao. They still smelled fine, and tasted the same), coconut collard greens, and some fruit. (The fruit was supposed to be roasted beets, but I didn't want that again.) I didn't even eat all the tempeh or fruit because I just wasn't feeling it. The tempeh was too salty and I just didn't feel like eating the cantaloupe or apples. I ate all the rest of it though, and shared with Caleb too.

In conclusion, day 18 went well until those fries. That's about it for today.

Ultimate Reset: Day 17

Day 17 is here which means there's only 4 more days left until the end of my 21 days. Today I actually started to think about what my meals were going to look like after this Reset. I know I probably shouldn't go and pig out the day after, but I'm not going to make any promises.. lmao. After I do have that one cheat meal afterwards, I do plan on keeping a similar diet to this cleanse but I'll have 2 snacks again and keep grains in the mix. I may have some baby lettuce and salad fixings left over, so I'll probably still have salads until everything is gone.

Anyways, this morning I had my lunch for breakfast. It was a carrot salad and some greens. I actually ended up just dumping the carrots on the greens to eat faster, lol. Super filling.

Now, for lunch I had Shakeology. As always, it was divine and I always look forward to drinking it now that I'm back with Chocolate. Seriously guys, you need to get on this Shakeology wagon because it's so damn good! It's also the quickest and easiest way to get in your nutrition and get an energy boost too. It doesn't have any stimulants or caffeine, just pure natural goodness. Send me a message on Facebook if you're interested in trying all the flavors of Shakeology for only $30! Or just click the link below.

I never really had snacks throughout this whole cleanse. I think I've only had 2 days where I felt like I needed a snack. Still no snack today.

Dinner tonight was roasted squash and green beans. The squash was supposed to be a delicata, but I couldn't find that so I just got butternut again. Plus it's way easier because it comes already pre-cut in a bag for you in the refrigerated produce section, lol. No cleaning and gutting out gross squash, lol. Anyway, the squash was super good. The green beans were good too, they were just seasoned with Himalayan salt and lemon.

I am feeling very jealous right now because Mike is at Foodie Fest (just imagine a bunch of food trucks, ugh and yummy yummy delicious goodness!) and I'm also feeling very proud of myself for sticking to this and not caving and going with him. He just sent me this picture of some spicy garlic Parmesan wings..

That's okay. I'll feel good in the morning when my abs look flatter and more defined! Lol. I'll just keep my mind busy tending to Caleb.

So, another day in the bag and down 2 more lbs for total loss of 8 lbs to date. If you're considering doing the Reset after following my journey, I encourage you not to do it alone. As a Beachbody Coach, I can mentor and support you through this 21 day program. Plus, I can provide you with valuable insight and help you get the best possible results. Ultimate Reset: Day 16

Breakfast was Shakeology. I had it on the way to work because I overslept and was running a tad bit late. Still made it on time! Thank God I only live less than 10 minutes away, haha.

Lunch was a salad.

Dinner was fruit (it was supposed to be that lemon kale, but I didn't want that), and curry cauliflower. The day was alright. Nothing new to report here. Honestly, looking forward to this being over with! Gotta catch up and blog day 17!
